What a Mess!

In Ezekiel’s time part of the population of Israel had been taken away as captives to Babylon. Those left in Jerusalem, even after seeing their countrymen exiled, still didn’t get the message. The priests were defiling the temple, worshiping idols instead of the Most High God yet they didn’t stop their offensive behavior. Pride blinded them to their sin.

It’s not unlike what we’re experiencing today, in America. Our country is slowly falling apart right before our eyes and most are oblivious. Soon, our circumstances will change so dramatically we won’t know how to live.  Our ‘lifestyle’ as we know it is about to crater – it’s time to live differently.

Rampant corruption, selfish attitudes, political correctness and a dearth of integrity encompass our society. It’s every man out for himself, doing what he pleases because we deserve to be happy. Never mind that it’s our choices which make us miserable.

What do we do about it? First off, REPENT for our ways; realize we’re a mess and we need a Savior. It starts with the church.

How do we live differently?

We need to get right with God. Jeremiah 2:3 tells us “Israel was holiness to the Lord, the firstfruits of His increase. All that devour him will offend; disaster will come upon themsays the Lord.  Let me put it simply: if we don’t support Israel we’re in big trouble. Refusing to recognize the truth doesn’t negate it.

If you have been bad mouthing Israel you need to change your ways because it is offensive to God.

I’m just saying. It’s what the Word says.

Clean out your house, spiritually and physically. Start making some decisions regarding what you can live without and get back to the basics! We’re dissatisfied and miserable because our lives are out-of-order! We have too much ‘stuff’ in our houses and too much emotional baggage hanging around our necks.

Slow down your pace. Quit being so busy with endless activity and have some face time; get to know your family again. Quality time is a fallacy. Time is time. It takes time to build relationships and heal wounds. Yes, you’ll be uncomfortable at first but you’ll love it later. Go apologize to someone you’ve offended. Show love to someone you have neglected.

Put down your electronic devices and have a meal around the table or a game night and if you live alone then go to a nursing home or invite some people over.

Reach out!

Learn to pray and trust in God. Turn off the TV and open up your Bible. Simplify your life. Say no to busyness and yes, to God.

Speaking in love here people – I’m working on it myself.

Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; for Yah, the Lord is my strength and my song; He also has become my salvation. ~ Isaiah 12:2

  1. This was excellent! We need to stop trying to gather things and hold on and repair what we already have. I started going to yardsales years ago to buy what I need, I grow a veggie garden and learned to make scarves, boot cuffs and jewlery to make extra money (God has surely blessed that!) I’m all about God,family, joy and peace..that is what God and time did in my life. Pray for Israel and His protection will be on you and your family in every aspect of your life! Thanks for this 🙂
